Ms Tan Yen Ping is SVP and Head, Cabin Interiors and Engineering Solutions for ST Engineering’s Commercial Aerospace. She is responsible for the development of integrated lifecycle solutions for aircraft and cabin interiors, encompassing design, engineering and product development through certification, cabin reconfiguration and refurbishment, aircraft modification and aftersales support.
As Head of Cabin Interiors and Engineering Solutions, Yen Ping operationalised the ramp-up of freighter conversion services through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, and oversees the business development of ACCESS, the world’s first expandable cabin lavatory for passengers with reduced mobility certified for installation in Airbus A320 family aircraft.
Her portfolio also includes various cabin upgrades and conversions, as well as engineering design and development for customised aircraft engineering programmes such as aerial firefighting aircraft conversions. These programmes leverage ST Engineering’s expertise in aircraft modifications and certifications to achieve the necessary Supplemental Type Certificates with airworthiness authorities.
Yen Ping began her career with ST Engineering in 1999. Throughout her career, she has guided and delivered several turnkey avionics upgrade programmes for helicopter and transport aircraft. Prior to her current appointment, she oversaw the successful effort to secure the Supplemental Type Certificate for Airbus A320/A321 Passenger-to-Freighter aircraft conversion which is instrumental for ST Engineering’s freighter conversion business.
Yen Ping graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic) from Nanyang Technological University.
